Position Title: Tobacco Program Manager

Reports To: Department Director

Role Overview

  • As the Tobacco Program Manager, you will manage the STEPP Program and assist with broader chronic disease programming. The primary goals of this role are to prevent youth and young adult tobacco use, protect the community from vapor/smoke toxins, and assist individuals in quitting nicotine products. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Manage the STEPP Program, including budget oversight, program coordination, and policy development.

  • Grant Management: Oversee grant-funded deliverables, meet reporting requirements, and collaborate with grant administrators.

  • Community Engagement: Lead local outreach and provide direct coaching for individuals seeking tobacco cessation.

  • Team Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with department staff to execute program goals and step into additional public health tasks as directed. 

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: 3-5 years of direct program/grant management experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication and robust time management capabilities.

  • Tech Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) and active management of social media platforms.

  • Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish) speaker.

  • Attributes: Time management and the ability to work well with coworkers and grant administrators required. Highly grounded, organized, and adaptable to the evolving demands of public health.
